Rejuvenate your skin and reduce the signs of sun damage with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial. This technology uses a broad spectrum of light to target broken capillaries, redness, rosacea, sun spots, age spots, uneven skin tone, and fine wrinkles. IPL Photofacial treatments from BodyLase® are especially effective for evening skin tone on the face, neck, chest, and hands. You can have healthier-looking skin with no downtime, no pain, and no invasive procedures. In fact, you can resume normal activities immediately! This procedure can easily be combined with BOTOX® and dermal fillers.

How Does the IPL Photofacial Work?

Studies have shown that the right wavelength of light can have remarkably restorative effects on your skin. Our IPL Photofacial treatment works at a specific wavelength to gently heat the targeted area of your skin. As the skin is heated, it gets rid of cells, specifically the cells associated with the blemish or imperfection you are looking to minimize. IPL differs from standard laser treatments in that it uses a full wavelength of light as opposed to a pulse, which means it can effectively treat multiple issues at the same time.

The IPL laser treatments provided at our Raleigh and Cary spas can eliminate melanin that builds up under the skin, addressing age spots, sun damage and the fine veins and capillaries that may cause rosacea.

How Long Is the IPL Photofacial Procedure?

Each IPL Photofacial treatment takes no more than an hour and may take considerably less time depending upon the area you need to be treated. In most cases, 3-5 sessions set about four weeks apart may be necessary for best results. We have ways to keep your skin cool while administering the procedure, minimizing any discomfort you may feel. You may feel a slight snapping sensation against your skin throughout the session. Afterward, and for about 24 hours, you may experience redness and soreness.

What Results Can I Expect?

Following your treatment, you should avoid sunlight and heat for about two days, and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7-10 days. Over the next two weeks after the procedure, you should notice a reduction in age spots and other imperfections such as broken capillaries, hyperpigmentation, and more. With the recommended number of treatments, you can see as much as a 75% or greater improvement in skin color and texture.
